Gregory "Scott" Kehler of Pittsburg, CA passed away on September 29th, 2023. Scott was born on September 8th, 1951, to John & Elizabeth Kehler in Phillipsburg, PA.  They moved to Pittsburg, CA along with his two older brothers in 1953 where they initially resided on Army St. Scott graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1969 and went on to work in the construction industry for several years until he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1977 for 10 years.  After his initial 2 years spent in Germany as a Bridge Crewman, he became an Air Traffic Controller stationed in Ft Lewis, Washington. Upon honorable discharge in 1987 he continued as an Air Traffic Controller out of Tacoma Washington.

He ventured back to California and worked several jobs throughout his life. Scott loved the SF Giants, SF 49ers, a good steak, fun at a casino and lord knows a good bar. Not necessarily in that order. He hated liver, hypocrites, our presidential nightmare and the direction our country has been going in. Back in the day he attracted more women than a shoe sale at Macy's. He got married while in the Army, but it did not last. Scott was no quitter however, so he gave it a shot one more time. However, it didn't work out either.

Scott also loved to tell stories. And you could be sure at least 50% of every story wasn't true. You just never knew which 50%!   John Wayne, Marshall Matt Dillon, Ben Cartwright and Charlie Harper were his TV heroes and oh how he loved the 3 Stooges, often imitating them.

Scott is preceded in death by his father, John Louis Kehler, mother, Elizabeth (Bette) Kehler & niece, Jessica Kehler.  He leaves behind 4 siblings; brothers- Ronald Kehler of Las Vegas, NV, Jack Kehler of Fresno, Ca, David Kehler (Val) of Pittsburg, CA and sister, Melody Baugh (Sam) of Pittsburg, CA. He also leaves many nephews and nieces that he treasured with his heart.

Scott was killed when he rushed into a burning orphanage to save a group of adorable children. Or maybe not. We all know how he liked to tell stories. 😊

Actually, Scott passed away peacefully after bravely fighting a severe illness while looking at pictures of family and friends.
