Obituary

Helen Doris Boyer, lovingly known as "Momo," passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at the age of 95, just days after celebrating her birthday.

Born March 20, 1931, in Custer, South Dakota, to Cas and Clara Adams, Helen spent her early years moving throughout the West before settling in Laramie, Wyoming, where she graduated from Laramie High School in 1948. She always held a deep love for Wyoming.

She later graduated from Open Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa, where she met and married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Boyer.

Together, they dedicated their lives to faith and ministry, serving through Open Bible Churches and later with First Assembly of God in Antioch, California. They served as assistant pastors and youth leaders, faithfully pouring into their community while raising their children, Russ and Candy, in a home rooted in faith.

Helen remained a devoted and active member of the church for over 70 years, serving in leadership roles, teaching, leading women's groups, singing and leading devotions, and participating in Northern California District Councils of the Assembly of God. In her later years, she was a cherished member of Cornerstone Church in Antioch.

After Chuck's passing in 1975, Helen worked at Memory Gardens in Concord, where she compassionately supported families during difficult times. She also found joy and fellowship in the Widows Luncheons in Brentwood.

Helen was known for her loving kindness, joyful spirit, and unwavering faith. She had a deep love for traveling across the United States, always able to navigate and remember the roads and places she had been. She found happiness in simple moments—morning coffee, watching birds, and time spent with her family, whom she loved deeply.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles "Chuck" Boyer (1975); her father, Cas Adams (1988); her mother, Clara Adams (2006); her brother Louie Adams (2004); and her younger brother Fran Adams (2019).

She is survived by her son, Russ Boyer, and daughter, Candy Boyer, both of Antioch, California, who lovingly cared for her until her final breath. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Elizabeth Boyer Contreras and her husband Johnny of Discovery Bay; Josh Boyer and his wife Leah of Morgan Hill; Daniel Miller and his wife Jessica of Shingletown; and Megan Miller and her fiancé Jordan Hampton of Bethel Island.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Aaron, Angelo, and Abel Page; Wyatt, Sienna, and Cas Miller; and Roczen and Gavin Hampton; and her great-great-granddaughter, Willow Page.

A private celebration of life will be held on April 11, 2026. She will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens in Concord, California.
