Obituary

In loving memory of our Beautiful Mother, whom we lost at the age of 87. Our Mother was known as a devout and faithful Jehovah Witness for 60 years and she loved going out on service preaching to others God's word the bible. She embodied the Fruitage of the Spirit at Galatians 5:22 & 23, "The fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control." So let us at all times be showing the love that is godlike and pure and try to be always rejoicing, for joy gives us strength to endure. It was a blessing and a privilege to have such a loving Mother in our lives.

She loved reading the bible, being with all her family, her cherished garden, singing to songs, and her funny storytelling. Our Mother really knew how to live a happy life and to enjoy the more important things, and her knowledge and wisdom she would pass on to her four children. She had a saying "Listen to Me and You Will Succeed', how precious she was in guiding us with all her love.

She is a native of California, she graduated at Liberty High School in Brentwood, lived in Pittsburg over 65 years. For 15 years, she worked as a Lab Technician at Bard Cardio Surgery Lab . She was preceded in death by her husband Mario Prieto Mendoza, who also after many years baptized as one of Jehovah Witnesses. She is survived by her children: Yvonne Mendoza in Concord, Loretta Bisio in Pleasant Hill, Mario Mendoza in Los Angeles, and Veronika Vassallo in Santa Monica, two in-laws; Joey Vassallo, and Esmeralda Mendoza.

Her brothers and sisters; Bonifacio Ruiz, Carmen Baes, Norbert Ruiz, Flora Coan, Robert Melendez, Joe Melendez, Julia Bellah, Rosemary Tiscareno, Tony Melendez, and Marylou Melendez. Sister-In-laws; Chris Melendez, Hilda Pena, and Mary Walker.

She has seven Grandchildren: Victor Mendoza, Alicia Mendoza, Enrique Escamilla, Corrina Bisio, Chella Mendoza, Tiana Vassallo, and Jovanni Vassallo. She has five Great Grandchildren: Gabriel Zendejas, Marie Rios, Jacob Cocek, Mafi Mendoza, and Litia Vake. She has one Great Great Grandchild; Na'Layah Zendejas.

As we feel overwhelmed by grief, we are also joyful, with the hope to be with our mother "Nana" again in the Resurrection (John 5:28-29), she is in Jehovah's care and keep and will be in the family's heart and soul forever (Hebrews 6:10).

The family would like this opportunity to thank all who have shown their love to our mother.
