Horace "Diz" Russo passed away on Tuesday, Nov 12th after a brief battle with cancer. He was a generous, loving and caring man who devoted his life to his family and friends.
Diz lived his entire life in Pittsburg, and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1952. He was employed at Dow Chemical for 38 years. He also served with the National Guard and the Navy Reserve. He belonged to the Italian Catholic Federation. He loved playing Bocce, going to water aerobics and everything Pittsburg.
Diz is survived by his loving wife Jane of 59 ½ years. He was a devoted father to George (Laurie) of Alamo, Amy (Phil) Connecticut, and Judy of Antioch and grandchildren, Josh (Mandy), Ashley, Nick, Bailey, Erica, Amanda, and Taylor and one great-grandchild, Kasen, and many other loving family members. Diz is also survived by brother Tom (Pauline) and preceded in death by his son Freddy, parents George and Lena, sisters Grayce and Rose. His generosity and helpfulness will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Nov 20th at 11:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel and reception to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date.
