Obituary

Ignacio "Nacho" Barrera Sr., was a devoted family man. He passed on to Heaven surrounded by his family. He was born in Mexico, one of eight siblings. Nacho arrived from El Llano, Michoacán, Mexico in 1949, met his wife Lucy and they married September 16, 1956. Nacho was an excellent pool player, enjoyed baseball, beer and an occasional 7 and 7. He also enjoyed traveling and took many trips with his wife, Lucy.
Nacho by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lucila (Canas), children, Jaime (Patty) Barrera, Elsa (Gary) Pahule, Eva Barrera (Ray Trevino) and Cathy Hurtado, daughter-in-law Simone Barrera, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria Barrera and Luisa Padilla Barrera, son, Ignacio Jr and grandson, JC Barrera. His quiet persona was the calming influence of the family and he will forever be remembered for his patience, kindness and generosity with much love, Nacho will be missed by everyone who knew him. Descanse en Paz.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 6:30pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
