We celebrate the life of James Philip Brown, "J.P." of Pittsburg, California. J.P. was born August 11, 1940 and was called home on November 22, 2017.

J.P. was baptized as an infant in a Catholic Church. He attended Elementary School in Oakland, CA and graduated from Notre Dame High School in Alameda, CA. Throughout his life J.P. was known as a dedicated sports fan; he took pleasure in watching Football and Basketball.

J.P was the last of 4 children born, and the last to pass away from the legacy of Herbert Brown Sr., and his Wife, Elizabeth Brown. J.P. was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings; Herbert Brown Jr., Richard Alexander Brown, II and Frances Brown Briggs; Nieces Philipine Brown and Mary Elizabeth Briggs, and Nephew Herbert Brown, III.

J.P. is survived by his loving nieces and nephews; Pamela Brown, Richard Alexander Brown, III "Ricky" (Monica), Janet Brown-Wooten, Tamra "Tammy", Sonia Brown, Adrienne Brown "Ada" Elizabeth Thomas (James), John Briggs, Sr. (Marla), Veronika Briggs-Benion "Ronnie", Frances Anne Briggs "Polly", James Briggs, II "Jaime", Beverly Briggs-Brice, and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
