Jeannette Marie Bradshaw passed away Friday May 24, 2024, she was 95 years old. She was born to Elsie and Louis Ostergaard on April 25, 1929, and baptized June 2, 1929, in the local Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, Minnesota and grew up on a farm until she was 14. She graduated from Lake Wilson High School in 1947. During her school years, she worked as a clerk in the local grocery store & as a receptionist for a local Doctor. After graduation, she was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Pipestone, MN for five years, first as a local & long distant telephone operator and ultimately promoted to Night Supervisor. As her father was an Officer in the Danish Army and later in the American Army during WWI, she followed in his footsteps and in September 1952 joined the United States Air Force. After completing Basic Military Training in Texas her first duty station was in Ogden, Utah, then to Rapid City, South Dakota, back to Ogden, Utah and then to West Germany. It was while she was in Germany that she met a young man, also in the Air Force, by the name of Floyd Bradshaw and they were later married in Basel, Switzerland. To this union were born 3 daughters, Linda, born in Wiesbaden, West Germany, Patricia born in Denver, Colorado and Pamela born in Landstuhl, West Germany. After their career with the military ended, the family settled in Pittsburg, CA in 1967 where she remained until her death. Church was always a major and important part of her life. She was raised in the Lutheran faith and started participating in church activities as soon as she could. Starting with Sunday school thru confirmation, member of Lutheran Daughters of the Reformation (LDR), Luther League, Choir, etc. While in Pittsburg, she continued her many church activities that included Vacation Bible School, Altar Circle, LWML, Mission Service, over 50 plus years with both the Pittsburg Community Emergency Services (Pices) and Pittsburg Convalescent Home Visitations. She was equally involved with her daughter's activities in school, Brownies and Girl Scouts. As if moving around the world during her and Floyd's military career was not enough after he retired, they continued traveling in the United States, plus 34 countries in Europe and Asia. She is survived by her husband Floyd, her daughter Linda in Santa Cruz, CA, Patricia in Henderson, NV, and Pamela in Las Vegas, NV. She has 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa, Eric, Evan and Collin. She has 6 great grandchildren, Jordan, Angie, Michael, Ashley, Nicolas and Elian. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Johnson and is survived by her remaining sister, Marion Carlson, of Lake Wilson, Minn.
Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:00am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 1092 Alberta Way, Concord, CA 94521. Reception to follow immediately after in the Parrish Hall. Flowers can be sent to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
She will be interred in the VA National Cemetery at Dixon, CA
