Jennie "Babe" Green's Obituary
Jennie passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, due to the long goodbye of dementia. She touched many lives with her gentle spirit.
She was born and raised in Pittsburg. Jennie graduated with honors Salutatorian of her class in 1943 from Pittsburg Senior High School.
In 1944 she married James D. Green. They spent 38 years together and had two children Jack and May Lynn.
Jennie was a active member of the Catholic Daughters for over 50 years, also the Italian Catholic Federation. She enjoyed dancing and singing, She loved all sports but her favorite was the Oakland A's. She had season tickets for years.
Jennie is survived by her two children, Jack L. Green and Mary Lynn Guyse, three grandchildren, Eric McRoberts, Brandi Galli, and Marisa Guyse-Harris, five great grandchildren, Victor Galli IV, Jackson Galli, Brooklynn Harris, Danny Coleman, and Colton McRoberts. She was preceded in death by her parents Rosario Morena, Mary Andante, her husband, James Green, and her grandson Danny Guyse Jr.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 5:00pm with a vigil service at 6:30pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
