Jerry passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Catherine Demetrakopulos, his brother Robert, his mother Avis, and his father Aldo.

Jerry grew up in Oakland and moved to Alamo in 1950.  He was the youngest of three children.  He was deemed a concert pianist and was planning on becoming a professional.  He graduated from San Ramon Valley High School Class of 55.  He attended Diablo Valley College and then completed his BA at Armstrong College in Business/Accounting.  He met his first wife Catherine and they married in 1962.  They lived in Pittsburg.  He worked for Antioch Glass Containers as an accountant until he started his business, Jerry's Shell Service in Pittsburg in 1965.  He purchased his first tow truck and started Pittsburg Towing.  He transitioned to the Union 76 brand in 1972 and continued to grow his towing business which is still thriving today after over 50 years.

After retiring in 1990 and marrying his second wife Janet, he pursued his lifelong love of sailing.  Jerry loved to travel, had a passion for learning, listened to music, spent time with his family, and most of all grew his relationship with God.

He is survived by his wife Janet, his two daughters, Stephanie Simpson (Scott), Kristina Reynolds (John), and three beautiful grandchildren who he adored more than anything, Alexandria, Yianni, and Erasmia Reynolds.

Trisagion services will be held Friday, August 18, 2018 at 7:00pm  at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.  Funeral will be Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:30am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.  Burial following at Oak View Memorial Park 2500 E. 18th St., Antioch, Ca 94509. Donations can be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund.
