Joan passed away after complications of diabetes. She was a unique person that has left a lasting memory on many people's hearts along the way. Joan was born in Sterling, OK. She moved to California at the age of 5 during the "dust bowl" in Oklahoma. She was a Real Estate agent in Contra Costa County for more that 40 years. Joan is survived by her daughters: Joan Joyce Pace-DeMotte and Roberta Lois Galves and son Dale Alan Funkhouser. Joan has 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her sister Rosetta Mae Burton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joan's great smile, sparkling eyes and great wit will be missed. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00am with a funeral service at 12:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
