Our beloved Joanne passed away with a very brief struggle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her family and close friends. She was born in Pittsburg, California on June 8, 1939 to Anthony "Neno" and Jennie (Gambalie) DiMaggio and had two (2) brothers Tom DiMaggio (Gayla) and Joe DiMaggio.

Joanne graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1957, where she met her husband Gerald Gray of 56 years. They were married at St. Peter Martyr Church in Pittsburg on August 12, 1962. They were blessed with three (3) children: Lisa Gray Vanni (Louis), Jerry Gray and David Gray (Patty) and two (2) Granddaughters: Gina Bauerlein and Jenay Bauerlein and many nieces and nephews. She worked as an Instructional Aide for the Antioch School District for over 20 years and was a wonderful housewife.

Joanne loved family gatherings and was a world traveler who went on many trips with her friends and family. She enjoyed countless activities with several childhood friends. She also liked Yoga, Tai Chi, and was an avid bocce ball player. Joanne was the epitome of what a wife, mother and grandmother should be.

A private service was held on December 22nd. Our donation preference would be to the American Cancer Society. Until we meet again in heaven, we will always carry her memory in our hearts.
