Joey "Joselito"
Ramirez Acuna
Jun 19, 1962 — Jun 15, 2024
Joey Ramirez Acuna passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024, after a battle with underlying health conditions. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit, positive outlook on life, and his big and giving heart. He loved blessing people!
Joey was born in the Philippines and, as a child, moved to the United States with his mother and older sister to be with his father who was in the US Navy. His family eventually settled in Pittsburg, California, where he graduated from Pittsburg High School. While in high school, Joey was heavily involved in the music program playing the saxophone. He loved being part of the Pirates Marching Show Band where he led the band as their Drum Major during his junior and senior years. He would go on to complete his studies at the University of Phoenix, Arizona.
Joey enjoyed his career working for Viacom for 15 years and USS Posco Industries for the past 18 years. After many years of loyal service, he recently retired from USS-Posco Industries in February 2024. With a faithful commitment to serving the Lord, Joey ministered as a Pastor and Youth Pastor for over 20 plus years. He loved his Lord God and the youth group. He enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, golfing, DJ and loved being on his boat where he relaxed, prayed, and posted on Facebook.
Joey is survived by his loving wife, Gigi Paulino Acuna, of 41 years; devoted sons, Joey Acuna, Jr., and Matthew Acuna of Pittsburg; his two dogs, Teela and D2. He is also survived by his brother, Jeryck Acuna; sister, Margie (Steve) Gutridge; loving nephews, nieces and many family members. He is preceded in heaven by his father, Freddie "Daddy Papa" Acuna; mother, Remedios "Mama Ding" Acuna; and sister, Marites Ignacio. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him and whose lives he touched deeply!
