John "Jack" Albert Becker 83, of Pittsburg, CA, passed away at home on June 4th.
Jack is survived by his wife Doris, son Robert, daughter Suzanne and as well as many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was preceded in death by his son Michael, his parents, Albert and Edna Becker, sister Rosanne, and brother Don. Jack was a loving father, husband, grandfather, teacher, coach and friend to all.
Jack is remembered as a man who enjoyed every moment of his life. He was a teacher and coach at Pittsburg High School for 35 years. He loved sports and coached football and golf to many students instilling his love for the game. Jack was a member of the 1951 USF Don's Football team and was later recognized into the Pittsburg High School's Football Hall of Fame.
Jack made the most of every experience and told the best stories of his time growing up on Central Avenue, courting his sweetheart Dora of 67 years, serving abroad in the army playing football, college days with his fraternity, coaching his children through the years and the 60+year tradition of taking his family to Lake Tahoe for summers – Enjoying every part of his life-"Waba Danza" as he would say.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 8th at 10:00am, with Funeral services at 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Committal services to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Michael Becker Memorial Foundation supporting Pittsburg scholarships in memory of his son Michael.
