John N. David's Obituary
Rev. John N. David was born on December 13, 1933 to the late Grace and Noble David in Quetta, Pakistan. He received his early education from St. Micheal High School in Quetta, Pakistan. After matriculation, he moved to Karachi, Pakistan to explore future opportunities. It was in Karachi, where he met his soul mate and married the late Angelina Sarain Dass on May 27, 1963. They were happily married for over 50 years.
John from his adolescence, was very much involved in Church activities. He served in the Church Choir, Youth Fellowship, Sunday School, Pastorate Committee and held many different positions in his local Church Parish in Karachi, Pakistan. He was employed with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), where he served with distinction for 25 years, before taking early retirement in 1990 to join his wife, children and grandchild in San Francisco, California.
After, arriving in San Francisco he joined his local community Church at Geneva Avenue United Methodist Church where he served as a volunteer clergy. Upon recommendation of the local pastor, John was sent to Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California. After completing the seminary John was commissioned by the California-Nevada conference and was assigned as an associate pastor at Geneva Avenue United Methodist Church where he served for 10 years.
John is survived by his two sons, Joel David & Rev. Ashley David, two daughter-in-laws, Sylvia David & Nosheen David, three grandchildren, Jerome David, Isabel David, Alisha David and one sister, Angelina Massey.
John's funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 9:30am at Antioch Church on the Rock, 50 Walton Ln, Antioch, CA 94509. Burial service following at Oak View Memorial Park Cemetery, 2500 East 18th St, Antioch, CA 94509.
