John Baez Escobedo was born on September 19, 1964, to Jerry and Hermelinda Escobedo. He grew up in Fremont California with his brother Jerry Escobedo Jr. who has since passed, and his sister Marlene Escobedo.

John was married to his wife, Patricia Perry, for 17 years. John had four children- John Escobedo Jr. (Junior Mafi), Nerissa Baker (James Baker), Bryan Escobedo (Shannon Escobedo), Zak Stone, and his two stepchildren Heather Perry and Matthew Perry. He also took on a very special father role in Grace Davies life.

John was a true family man and loved being surrounded by his 10 grandchildren: Alonzo, Jaimie, Sophia, Leila, Olivia, Rylie, Vinny, Jackson, Giselle, and Abel. Nothing brought John more joy than sharing his passions with his grandchildren. Whether that was cranking on cars in the garage, playing guitar, or his favorite- taking the trailer out and riding quads. He loved Pismo Beach, Hollister, Coos Bay, and so many more.

John was known for his quirky humor, infectious smile, and love for life. He will be missed by many and remembered by all.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, 10:00am with Sharing of Memories at 10:30am at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life will follow at Bryan and Shannon Escobedo's home in Antioch, CA.
