Born in Pittsburg, CA the son of Frederick and Ruth Felix and grew up in Bay Point. Attended Bel Air Elementary and Graduated from Pacifica High School, Class of 1974 and went on to receive an AA Degree from Diablo Valley College on May 3, 1985.
John pursued a career a in the landscape field working at the Rossmoor Retirement Community in Walnut Creek. He eventually started his own landscape contracting business where he put his creativity to work, designing and installing landscapes for residential properties. His artistic side and his special ability to connect with people enabled him to successfully install beautiful landscapes with many satisfied and long term customers.
He was known for his good sense of humor, adventurous spirit and inventive nature, always coming up with a new idea or product.
John always enjoyed spending time with his family where he could let his personality shine. He would talk about all the good times he had from the past all while creating new memories to share. He has never failed to be entertaining and was well liked by whoever he came in contact with.
John is survived by his wife Joanna Felix of Concord, and his three children Tricia Felix of Concord, Taylor Felix of Oakley, and Kevin Felix of Concord. He is also survived by his mother Ruth Felix of Pittsburg, sister Nancy Landini of Rio Vista, brother Ruben Felix of Brentwood, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:00am with a Celebration of Life 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette.
