Jack was born and raised in Kingston, NY and graduated from Kingston High School in 1970.  He received a bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at UNLV.  He is survived by his wife Paula, siblings Pat McDermott (Claudia), Peggy McDermott, Kathy Smith (Jerry), children Cody McDermott (Kristen), Erin Goldthwaite (Drew), Jason Schulte (Jessica), Brianne Schulte (Tiffany) and Daniel Schulte (Becky), grandchildren Nate Schulte, Zoe Schulte, Bryson Schulte, Aubrey Schulte, Zoe McDermott, and Miles McDermott.  He tended bar at Zandonella's then Black Hawk Country Club.  He was passionate about music and an avid Grateful Deadhead.  He was loved by many.

Celebration of Life will be January 31st at Pittsburg Elk's Club at 1pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
