Obituary

Mr. John C. Rinaldo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the age of 67. He had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) just over a year prior.
John was born to parents Paul and Carolyn Rinaldo on July 14, 1947 in Jamestown, NY. He grew up as the youngest of two and attended Jamestown High School. John obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and his master's degree from Pepperdine University. In 1974, he married his sweetheart, Yolanda Lenier and together they had celebrated 41 years of marriage. In 1970, he joined the United States Navy and served for twenty years retiring in 1990. John then began a second career for the City of Santa Rosa retiring in 2004.
John enjoyed serving his community and was a member and past President of the Kiwanis Club of Santa Rosa where he positively affected the youth of Santa Rosa. In retirement, he enjoyed helping both the poor of Mazatlán and the tourists arriving on cruise ships. He was a servant at heart and will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda; his sons, Paul and John; mother, Carolyn; sister, Donna Groenke, and four granddaughters.
Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial and scattering of the ashes in the San Francisco Bay from 10:00am to 2:00pm on June 14, 2015. The boat will be departing from Sausalito, CA. For more information email paulrin2008@gmail.com.
