John passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 52. He was born in Oakland and lived his whole life in Antioch, graduating from Antioch High School. John worked for 30 years at Somersville Town Center in the maintenance department. He was an avid wrestling fan and loved classic rock music. He was a loving, caring and devoted son, brother and uncle.
John is survived by his father John Salmon (Alice), his mother Karin Valente (Robert), sister Christina Salmon, step brother Steve Valente, nieces Brittany and Sarah Gilbert, aunts Jutta Bancroft (Stafford) of Toledo, Washington, Gudrun Brandlein of Oberasbach, Germany, Kathleen Nielson (Mike) of Livermore, Ca, Susan Salmon of Lodi, Ca. Numerous cousins, relatives and friends in California, Washington and Germany. Loved with a love beyond all telling, missed with a grief beyond all tears.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 1:00pm at St. Ignatius of Antioch. Contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
