Obituary

John DeStefano passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2024. He was born November 17,1955, to Chaz DeStefano and Annette DiMercurio, in Pittsburg, CA where he attended elementary, middle school and then graduated with the class of 1973 from Pittsburg High School.

Johnny was an intelligent rambunctious child who enjoyed outside activities, especially playing baseball and basketball. In high school, he was on the wrestling team. He was introduced into his father's business at a young age and learned everything there was producing fine quality doors. After graduation, he went on to a successful career at Sure Fit Door Company in Pittsburg. Johnny enjoyed working with his hands and anything to do with custom wood working and door designs.

In 1991, he married Sharon Conger and soon afterwords welcomed their beautiful daughter Chelsea. By the age of 35, Johnny was ambitious, purchasing homes in Clayton, Antioch and a lot on the lake in Tahoe.

Johnny was the life of the party; he was always up for a good time. He also enjoyed his Harley Davidson, classic cars and the company of his friends.

Johnny had a deep connection to the city of Pittsburg especially for the high school. Often boasting of his almamater. He was proud of his Italian Sicilian heritage, a member of the Sons of Italy. He traveled to Italy, sharing many stories about his grandfather, John DeStefano, who was a master boat builder. Johnny had a kind generous spirit and will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

A special thanks to Zelda LaFrak Belleci, Charles, Paul and Lisa Belleci for their kind hospitality and love for Johnny.

Johnny is survived by his mother Annette Pisani, daughter Chelsea DeStefano, brothers Tom Pisani, Chuck DeStefano, sisters Christie Favalora and Tami Pisani Dennis. He was preceded in death by his father, Chaz DeStefano.
