Jose Buena passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Born and raised in Bicol, Philippines, he earned his degree in Accountancy and worked as Chief Accountant before coming to the United States. Upon arrival here, in order to provide for his family, he worked as Security Guard in Securitas Agency until his retirement. He loved cooking, he became popular to his friends as "Laing King", a specialty food in Bicol. He was a joker to his friend, a silent type but with good sense of humor. One of his favorite hobby was fishing. He also loved playing poker, for fun.

Jose is survived by his loving wife Victoria; and devoted children, Edward and Jean, and three grandchildren, Alyssa Mae, Eugine Joseph and Justin Anthony. His generous loving spirit will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited for viewing on June 5, Wednesday in Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, 2295 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg, California, from 4 to 8 p.m. (giving tribute from 5 to 6 p.m. Vigil Rosary is from 7 to 8 p.m.

Memorial Mass is on June 6, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3200 Harbor St. Pittsburg, California 94565.
