Obituary

On June 8th at 12:02 a.m. God gave our dad his wings. There are NO words to describe the EXTREME pain and indescribable loss we feel. Our  hearts are beyond broken !
A little bit about our dad:
Our dad's name is Jose Gonzalez Melendrez, son of Luisa Melendrez (a.k.a. Bicha) and Roman Gonzalez. He met our mom, Hermelinda Martinez when they were barely crawling. They were born one month apart in the same ranch, El Paso de Orozco. They played together, grew up together and our dad was our uncle's best friend. Our parents were soulmates from birth. They were always together and loved each other very much!
Those of you that got to know our dad know that he had quite a sense of humor and he kept it to his last breath. He loved making funny faces, entertained us with stories and always said something that would make you laugh! He was a special uncle to many. He was wise and taught us vital life lessons. He was dedicated to his family and ALWAYS made sure we were provided for and taken care of. He cared and provided for my grandma (his mom) from the age of 9 until she passed. We always felt protected by him and knew he had our back no matter what.
He was a loving grandpa who took his babies from the time they where walking up until this last fall to feed the ducks to the Martinez Marina. They had a special handshake and he had a special bond with each one. He taught all of us the importance of saving, loving family, respecting each other, family unity and to always care and look out for each other!
The only way to describe his passing is spiritually perfect! He was home, in his bed surrounded by my mom, my sister and I. We were holding his hand, kissing him and telling him how much we loved him and that it was okay to go. He had not woken up all day Sunday, but he used all his strength to open his eyes, give us kisses and he took his last breath and left. Thank you God for this beautiful gift and for giving him that beautiful transition from our world into yours! We will miss him beyond words, but we are at peace knowing he is with You and his loved ones in Your Kingdom.
