With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jose Antonio Partida, who entered eternal rest on May 23, 2026. Surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home, Jose peacefully departed this life after courageously battling a lengthy illness for more than a decade. Through it all, he remained a man of remarkable strength, resilience, faith, and unwavering love for his family.

He was born in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico, and moved to Pittsburg, California, with his wife, Esther Carolina, and 5 children. He made his family's forever home in Pittsburg and had 7 more children to fill his home with love and happiness. He was a strong and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, godfather, and wonderful friend. He dearly loved his wife of 68 years and nurtured his family to grow with respect, dignity, and unity. He was a welcoming person to all and had a generous heart.

As a young man, he served in the Mexican military. After moving to the US, he started as a Sanitation worker for Pittsburg Disposal, became a member of the Teamsters Union, and, a few years later, became the maintenance mechanic at Pittsburg Disposal and SEG Trucking for over 35 years. While working, he attended night school to earn certification as a diesel mechanic and welder. He was a hardworking man who specialized in many trades. He excelled in welding, masonry, plumbing, construction, and electrical work and took pride in his work.

He was also a faithful Catholic and member of St. Peter Martyr Church, Good Shepherd Church, and La Sociedad Guadalupana. After retiring, he participated in La Escuela de la Cruz and devoted his free time to helping with projects at St. Peter Martyr Church.

Jose is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Carolina; his son, Jose; his parents, Francisca & Jose; and his maternal grandparents, Jose & Belen Hernandez. He is survived by his twelve children: Joe, Gerardo, Guadalupe (Gregorio), Francisco, Jaime (Michelle), Angelica (Michael), Veronica (Craig), Epifanio (Tisha), Carolina (Joseph), Maria (Wade), Antonio (Heather), Jesus (Elizabeth), 33 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

While our hearts ache with his absence, we find comfort in knowing that Jose has been reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Esther Carolina. We imagine them together once again, hand in hand, surrounded by God's eternal peace. Jose will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm with a rosary at 4:00 pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral Liturgy Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Peter Martyr Church in Pittsburg. Committal service following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
