Our hearts are broken in sharing the passing of Joe Coniglio beloved husband to Sue Coniglio for 42 beautiful years. He passed at home with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren sharing his last days together.

He was born in Isola Delle Femmine and arrived in Pittsburg California in 1965 at 11 years old where everyone in town gladly taught him English. Joe was a hard worker, holding many jobs from a young age. At 18 he started working at the Pittsburg Schools and retired after 38 years as head warehouseman. Joe was a respected union president of CSEA chapter 44 until he retired in 2010 at 56 years old.

Joe was a coach for Pittsburg Peanut League where he met his wife, Sue. They both coached and became friends and eventually loves of each other's lives. They were married on April 30th, 1983, and inseparable from then on. (except for their anniversary, which fell on opening day of trout season)

They raised a beautiful family that did everything together, He taught all the kids to fish and camp. He could repair anything for them, their cars, and houses whatever they needed. He was there for all the weddings, births, graduations, that's what he lived for. Joe & Sue hosted all the holidays for all the family, friends and neighbors. Passing on traditions, of lots of food, fun and memories such as "It's been an hour!". Joe was a master at BBQing and entertaining. Camping and fishing was his favorite thing, Joe took Sue to the most beautiful and some scarry places to camp and hike. They all loved to go canoeing with Nonnu.

Joe was great at all sports, playing basketball, track, football and baseball. He also went to play in Hawaii with the Pittsburg Boys Club. Then came the famous Panama Reds Baseball team! That became a family not just a team. Growing up together, they traveled, partied, and raised families. That's a bond that has lasted forever.

Joe was an Umpire for about 10 years for National Softball League and Honored as Umpire of the year. A special game for him was when he umpired for Joe DiMaggio's granddaughter. After the game Joe DiMaggio came up and shook his hand and said, "Good game ump." That was such a thrill he never forgot.

For over 30 years Joe has been part of a poker group, including yearly trips to Reno, fishing and camping in Pinecrest, with a lot of laughs and stories! Joe and Sue played Bocce together for many years. He then continued with the SR league in Pittsburg.

Joe joined the Elks in 2016 and started cooking shortly after that. He became the chef everyone wanted to cook with. The jokes, the singing, the stories and the laughter made it the best place to be on Friday night dinners. Joes' favorite night was Calamari night.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Milton (Darrio), AnnaMarie Lecce (Fabrizio) Michael Gissell (Cathy) Grandchildren; Stacey, Sydney, Amari, Lainey, TaMary. Great grandchildren, Tawni, Mailani, Timmy, and MJ. Sister -Anna, Sister-in-law-Madalynn, Brothers- Filippo, Salvatore, Neno, and Nick. Also, Angela and Mike Coniglio. Joe was preceded in death by, his parents, Giuseppe and Maria Coniglio, Brothers Nicola, Simone, and Pete Coniglio.

The entire services will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Pittsburg Elks Lodge. Family eulogy will be held at 12:30 pm. Father Robert will perform the Liturgy at 1:00pm. Meal will be served at 2:00pm
