Joseph "Eddie" Roybal passed away in peace on November 2nd, in Pittsburg, California. Eddie was born on December 13th, 1945 at Concord Community Hospital. He was the adored son of Mary and Joseph Roybal who predeceased him. He was also loved and doted upon by his five sisters. He had a happy and fulfilling childhood. He loved playing and watching sports, and he also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing especially when he caught a big fish. His many nephews respected and cherished their 'Uncle Eddie' as they looked up to him.
Eddie attended St. Peter Martyr School and was a graduate of Pittsburg High School-Class of 1964. He was a proud member of the Pittsburg Pirates football team and a valued teammate. Eddie attended DVC and then on to Cal State Hayward where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In his earlier years he was employed at Shell Chemical, Continental Can, and Sears Roebuck.
He is survived by his daughter Melanie (Richard) Romero of Pittsburg, and Grandchildren Brittani, Brianna, Brielle, and Brian. He is also survived by his sisters Lucy Valletta of Sonoma; Christina Masoner of Valencia; Norma (Jerry) McCullough of Antioch; and Claire Pardi of Pittsburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eddie was also predeceased by his oldest sister Cynthia Silveria and his nephew-Godchild, Mark Masoner.
Inurnment was at Queen of Heaven in Lafayette, Ca. Private services were held.
