Joe Quesada passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Antioch. He was born and in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High. For 47 years, Joe worked for US Steel/POSCO. He served his country in the National Guard and was a member of St. Peter Church, The Guadalupana Society and the YMI.
Joe is survived by his grandson Mario Quesada, two great granddaughters, Isabella and Sophia of San Antonio, TX; brother Jess Quesada (Betty), Luis, Robert, Victor Jr. (Gloria), and sister Virginia Ruiz (Gilbert). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Connie Richarte, parents Victoriano and Yldefonsa Quesada, two sons: Eddie and Jack, sisters: Julia Lopez, Aurora Blankenship, Jennie Lopez and brother Frank Quesada (former Mayor of Pittsburg).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 6:30pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Peter Martyr Church. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
