Josephine Lucido 91, (Josie) passed away at home of natural causes. Josie was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg. She was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Grace Usino. She attended local schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School.
She worked as a clerk at the Rexal Drug Store for 20 years. She was a member of the Retail Clerks Union, Church of the Good Shepard, Sons of Italy, Italian Catholic Federation, Italian American Club, Pittsburg Historical Society, Young Ladies Institute where she earned her 50 year pin as a member.
Josie loved her family, home, cooking, and gardening. She enjoyed traveling, going to Europe several times especially Italy and Sicily.
Josie was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Frank A. Lucido. She is survived by 3 daughters, Prudy Lazdowski (Gary), Carmella Wanless (Arlan), Josette Mercurio (Pete). 7 grandchildren, Robin Abitz (Don), Ryan Graham (Kasey), Nicole Costa (Eric), Teresa Lazdowski-Merrill (Mike), Marie Lazdowski, Arlo Wanless, Eric Mercurio, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Josie was preceded in death by her sister Lena Russo and brother Jack Orsino.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 5pm with Vigil at 7pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
