Julie passed away at her home on Friday, April 10, leaving us for a moment with sadness but a lifelong memory of love, laughter and happiness.
Julie was born in Antioch, and graduated from Antioch High School. She received her Business Administration Certification from Heald College in Concord, and spent the last 20 years of her career at the Contra Costa County Transportation Authority where she eventually held the position as Executive Assistant to the General Manager.
Julie is survived by her devoted husband Jay of 31 years, loving daughters Janelle Machado (Dennis) and Jayme and adoring grandsons Jayden and Julian. She is also survived by her mother Martha Fairhurst, and her brothers Bill (Leslie) and Tom Fairhurst; nephew Billy and Niece Stevie. She is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins as well as her extended Shipe family. Julie was preceded in death by her Father William Fairhurst.
Friends and Family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
