Juliet (Cuba)
Mccollough
Oct 2, 1923 — Feb 19, 2024
Juliet McCollough was born in Pennsylvania in 1923 to Raffaele and Louisa Cuba. They came to Pittsburg in 1926 in search of work when US Steel was being built.
Juliet grew up in Pittsburg and attended Pittsburg schools graduating from Pittsburg High School in 1942. She then attended Holy Names College. She lived a good life and had many friends and family who loved her dearly. She worked for several banks until she went to work for Pittsburg Unified School District. She worked in the Library at Highlands Elementary and retired after 27 years with the district.
She met the love of her life, Mel while working at Camp Stoneman where he was stationed during WWII and is now reunited with him in heaven along with her sisters Margaret Chase, Edith Tonso, Frances Vetrano and Irene Furgerson. Her parents and also her grandchildren Gregory Bittle and Danille (Bittle) McColloch.
She is survived by her son, Ralph McCollough (Linda) and daughters Kathleen Clarke (Randy) and Mary Gollehon (Ken), her grandchildren, Jeff, Nick, Maria, Steven, Michelle and Kenny, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed and will forever live on in our hearts.
Her greatest accomplishment was to reach 100 years old, and she did.
A memorial service will be on March 29, 2024, at 11:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to go to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her name.
