Kerry David Gibson, a proud veteran of the United States Army passed away Feb. 3, 2024 at the age of 71. The son of Henry Gibson and Aloha Baker, from Pittsburg, Ca. Kerry went to school at Pittsburg High School and played football for the Pittsburg Pirates as a Kicker.

At the age of 17 Kerry enlisted in the U.S. Army. He valued this service highly and obtained the rank of PFC. As part of his military career, he flew with the 135th AHC 1st AVN BDE in Vietnam. He was the youngest crew chief in the unit. This was a special unit that flew in and out of hot zones with the Austrian Navy and South Vietnam Air Force.  Kerry received four medals and special commendations during his time in war.

Kerry is survived by his brother Mike and Steve. Survived by his daughter Erin, and his grandchildren Alexis, Nolan, and Courtney.  Also, his nephew David with his wife Krystal and his niece Laney. Notable close friends of his are Mimi Gillum and Linda Reiter.
