Obituary

Lamberto Reyes has joined our Creator on February 28, 2022 in his home in Pittsburg, California at the age of 72.

Didi, as his wife and children call him, has been a source of inspiration to his family. When everyone else would think that his family won't thrive in dire situations, he would overcome these obstacles with a different plan. He, alongside his wife, devoted their lives to ensure a better future for their children, even if it means being away from each other for 12 years.

Didi has his unorthodox way of loving and parenting his children. He would allow them to fall but he would be the first to lift them up. He would let them fly but pulled them back to keep them grounded. He would encourage them to aim for more but also taught them to be happy even with less. He would provide for all their needs but made sure that they could also provide it on their own. He would let them do things alone, but he would never leave them with his gaze.

Didi's greatest fear came in 2010 when his right leg was amputated due to diabetes. He was afraid that he could no longer provide for the family. Little did he know that all his sacrifices has molded his family to be ready to face the different challenges in life. His tireless love and devotion remained to be the family's source of inspiration to be strong, to persevere, to love unconditionally, to fly. His battle with the complications of diabetes for 15 years showed his different take in handling life challenges. Despite his health issues, he remained to have one motto: "Food is life."

You will seldom hear him say, "I love you." But as cliché as it might sound, action indeed is way louder than words. Despite the dearth of spoken words, his wife and children certainly feel his selfless love and guidance even beyond his passing.

Didi is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ofelia, his children Byron and wife Juliet, Janice and husband Rolando, Lala and husband RJ, and Rhyan and seven grandchildren Jordin, Lauren, Lance, Reign, Jarogn, Rayver and Jiro.
