Laura Russo Young, 68, of Pittsburg, CA, peacefully passed away after a two-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Born on February 15, 1954, to Frank and Dolores Russo, she was third generation born and raised in Pittsburg. After Laura graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1972, she worked at the USS Posco Steel Mill for 44 years, finally retiring at the end of 2017.

In 1981, Laura was married to Ted Young and recently celebrated 40 wonderful years with him. She was an avid fan of the Oakland A's and has held season tickets for the past 20 years. She often enjoyed going to games with her family and friends. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time on the lake and visiting with her children, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.

Laura is survived by her brother and sister, Russ Russo (Suzanne) and Lynn Gargalikis (Mark), and her two children, Teddy Young Jr., and Sam Young. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dolores Russo, and her brother, Rich Russo.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 11:00am followed by a funeral liturgy at Church of the Good Shepherd.
