Leo A. Buccellato long time Pittsburg resident passed away peacefully Monday evening surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Detroit, MI, to Antonio and Caterina Buccellato, one of eleven children and moved to California with his family, eventually settling in Pittsburg.
After serving in the US Navy, Leo enjoyed a 40 year career with US Steel. Leo enjoyed traveling with his family and being the taxi driver/ babysitter for his grandchildren and great grandchildren; family was his life.
Leo was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Catherine "Rena" He is survived by his devoted children Catherine Anne Mijares (Ron), Prudy Dekelaita (Ron), and Anthony Buccellato (Kitty). He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his brother Vince "Jimmy" Buccellato (Lois). His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
