Leonard passed away following a brave battle with cancer. His family was at his bed side. Leonard was born and raised in Pittsburg. He attended local schools, graduating from Pittsburg High. He worked as a machine operator at Fiberboard in Antioch, retiring in 1973. His hobbies were cooking, fishing, and gardening. He loved spending time with a group of childhood friends, they called themselves "The Paisano's".
Leonard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Russo, daughter, Rose Conklin (Gilbert), son, Kenny Russo (Cathy) and brother, Dominic Russo. Grandchildren: Gilbert III, Phillip, and Amanda Conklin, Leonard Russo, and Cassandra Apodaca (Albert). Great grandchildren: Haley and Kaitlin Conklin, Nathan and Adrian Apodaca, Lorenzo and Giavanna Conklin/Fuentes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shedo and Rose Russo, brother, Joseph, and son, Tony.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:00am with a vigil and chapel blessing at 12:00pm the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.

In-Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
