Hsin
May 16, 1939 — Oct 25, 2025
Today, the mountains bow their heads, the rivers give way, and tears flow from the sky. We are gathered here to mourn and celebrate the life of my mother, Hsin Shu Qi.
Hsin Shu Qi was born on May 16, 1939, and passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on October 25, 2025. She was a long-time resident of San Francisco and passed at her daughter's home in Pittsburgh, California.
Raised in a middle-class family in China, she completed her education and soon began her own family. She wore many hats in life: she was a teacher, a mother, a wife, and a sister.
In 1986, she bravely came to the United States to join her father, Professor Ying Hsin. She worked diligently in the sewing business, always looking forward to the day she could build her own dressmaking business.
Her life was truly full of care and giving. She was known for her kindness to everyone around her, maintaining wonderful relationships with her coworkers, neighbors, and, most importantly, her family.
In her senior years, she fought her illnesses with quiet strength and peacefully passed away in the morning of October 25th. During her final days, she was surrounded by the love of her friends and family who visited her, and received great care from her doctors, nurses, and service providers.
Mom, you were a great mother. We will always remember your kindness and the enduring legacy of your love.
