Lorraine M.
Strait
Jul 5, 1923 — Mar 22, 2022
Brentwood
Lorraine 'Dolly' Strait lived a long active life beginning on a farm in Roseland, Nebraska–one of eleven children. Holding a long career as a respected interior designer in the Walnut Creek area, she worked and bowled well into her 80's. Lori was an excellent bowler and enjoyed travel and cruise ships. A devoted mother who was always there for her children regardless of need, she was active as a den mother in the Cub Scouts and went on to achieve recognition as the first female Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, Mt. Diablo Council. Lori was known for her friendly ways and quick wit and lives on in the hearts of her family.
She leaves behind daughter Judy Peterson, three sons Daniel, David, and Harry Strait; as well as seven grandchildren: Lorraine (Lori) Peterson-McKeen, Cindy Peterson, Wendy Souza, Danielle Sayer and Rebecca Strait. Plus, eight great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Two elder children, Larry Dean Loskill and Karen Line, predeceased her; as did two grandchildren Ralph 'Tag' Weisman and Tina Johnson. Two husbands passed before Lorraine: Anthony Loskill and Harry H. Strait. Later in life she found warmth and joy in traveling with her companion Allan Anderson who predeceased her as well.
Her final resting place will be in the Bourg family plot at the Roseland Cemetery, where her family will travel to hold a Catholic memorial service in late June.
