Lydia Pia
Bulan
Aug 3, 1941 — Apr 6, 2025
Lydia Marapao Pia Bulan, transitioned peacefully on April 6, 2025, at 11:00 PM, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 83. She was born on August 3, 1941, in Calape, Bohol, Philippines, to her father Filomeno Pia and mother Roberta Marapao. Lydia was the eldest among her siblings: Douglas, Alfred, Jennifer, Mildred, and Portia. On June 20, 1965, she married the love of her life, Alfredo Bulan , and together they raised their beloved children with deep love and devotion. Fondly known to many as Mama Lyds , she embraced her role as a homemaker with grace, warmth, and an endless supply of love. She had a natural talent for solving problems, a gifted hand at sewing, a love for do-it-yourself projects and artwork, and was a constant support and guiding light to her siblings. She found great joy in caring for her grandchildren and traveling, always bringing her vibrant spirit wherever she went. Mama Lyds loved life through its simplest pleasures and had an extraordinary ability to connect with others in deep, loving, and positive ways.
Lydia is survived by her children Melissa, Michael, Marjorie, and Myrtle , along with their spouses Allan John, Jean Paul, Stephen Paul , and Nilda . Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Maureen Alianna, Margarette Alyssa, Melanie Athena, Maxine Muriel, Jean-Mitchelle, Jhanna Margaux, Myrrh Hannah, Darin Nieves Faith, Shanahn Adriel, Donatien Quade, Hanniel Quint, and Joaquim Shae—and her cherished great-grandson, Mateo Adrian .
Mama Lyds' memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire generations to come.
