Mae Ruth Simms was born on may 9, 1936 in Homewood Mississippi to Fred and Idell Mays she was one of 12 children 9 brothers John L..D,, Eddie ,Murphy, Jay T., Billy Ray, Bobby, John D, of Mississippi and Marzell of Pittsburg California all who preceded her in death 3 girls Pearl Stewart of Mississippi who preceded her in death. Mae Ruth moved to Pittsburg at the age of 18 where she met and married Manuel Simms who preceded her in death. To the marriage 3 children were born Samuel , Freddie, and Angela also 2 stepchildren Gwendolyn Christmas who preceded her in death and Michael Sims of Bay Point. She joined Greater McGlothen Memorial Temple in 1968 under the leadership of Elder John W Moore in Pittsburg, California. Mae was an active member until her health began to decline. She would still try to attend church on her better days.
She leaves to cherish her memory 4 children Michael, of Bay Point, Samuel of Brentwood and Freddie and Angela of Pittsburg California 2 Grandchildren Terrell Hall and Freddie Simms Jr. 2 Great Grandchildren Terrell Hall Jr. and Maceio Simms one sister Loretta Reese of Morten , Mississippi 2 sister in laws Arbadine McCormick of Pittsburg and Marva Bohanon of Brentwood, California and a host of nieces, nephews and Friends.
