Obituary

Manuel Jimenez passed away after a 10 month courageous battle with stomach cancer. He was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia and came to the United States by way of the merchant marines. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline before getting married and making a life in Northern California. Manuel lived in Pittsburg for 29 years and enjoyed working in his backyard, riding his bike around Mt. Diablo and Black Diamond and caring for his family. He spent 30 years with Barcelon and Associates in Lafayette CA before retiring in June 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jo Ann Saba-Jimenez and two sons Anthony and Walter. He is also survived by his brother Alavro and Reynaldo Jimenez along with sisters Leonor, Matilda and Mariaeugenia along with nieces, nephews and other family both here in the United States and Colombia. Memorial service Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Kaiser Foundation Hospice.
