Maria G. Fernandez passed away Tuesday surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with a terminal illness. She touched many lives with her kind, caring, loving and compassionate ways. She enjoyed spending time with her family, practicing her Catholic faith and visiting her homeland. She was born in Michoacán, Mexico and moved to the U.S. in 1966 after marrying her true love Alberto Fernandez. She is survived by her devoted children Yolanda, Art, Leticia Albert, Elizabeth, and Bungie, as well as 16 loving grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Alberto and son Richard.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday Aug. 19, 2013 at 4:00 pm with a vigil at 6:30pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 10:00 am at St. Peter Martyr Church. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
