Maria Struzas, passed away November 29, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 82 years old. Maria was born in Zakynthos, Greece and came to the U.S. with her sister Angela in 1955. They came to Fresno, Ca., to live with their uncle Tony Struzas and his wife Annie. Maria resided in Fresno until after the death of her uncle in 1975. She then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to live with her sister Angela. Maria worked as a seamstress for one of the high end casino clothing shops.
Maria welcomed friends and family with open arms. It was always her pleasure to have company. Maria lived a happy, healthy life and was never ill or hospitalized.
Maria is survived by her brother Tony Struzas and his wife Annie and their three children: Andriana, Peter and Angela and two great nephews Anthony and Andreas. Her sister Nicky and her husband Lambros Mouzakis and their three children: and two grandchildren in Zakynthos, Greece. She was very close to her brother Tony and his family. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 5:30pm with a Trisagon at 6:30pm. Funeral service Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00am both days at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Concord. Burial following at Oak View Memorial Park, Antioch.
