Marino Casil Cachola, 95, passed away on February 26, 2021 at the John Muir Medical Center in Concord.  Born and raised in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on July 17, 1925.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Pilar, his parents, Leon and Romana Cachola and siblings Maria, Eddie, Carlos, Modesta, Aureliana, Felix and grandson, Clint.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rosita Paragas, his children, Millie Riray and her husband, Delfin; Maribel Purificacion and her husband, Napoleon;  Marino Jr and his wife, Catherine;  his grandchildren Kathyrine Moore and her husband, Asa; Dennis Riray and his wife, Erica; Karl Michael Mendoza;  Danielle Shockley and her husband, Ben; Nathan Purificacion and his wife, Maple; Matthew, Gabriel and Rafael.  His great granddaughters Arielle, Chanaya, Sophia, Madeline, Lilia and Vera and Isabella.

In his early years, took up aviation in college but dropped it and became a member of the Manila Police Department in the crime investigation unit.  Marino met his wife, Pilar in a community dance. After a brief romance, they got married and settled in Manila.   After 21 years of service at the MPD, he took on the opportunity of migrating to America with the help of his brother, Eddie.  Marino landed a job with the United California bank as a security guard and was later promoted as the Northern California Regional Manager in the Security Department.  In July of 2001, Pilar passed away and Marino met Sita, got married in 2003 and settled in Burlingame.  After Sita's retirement, they moved to Pittsburg.

Marino enjoyed reading especially the Readers Digest where he discovered that drinking beer with your meal is beneficial to your health and it became his legacy, loved watching boxing, loved helping with paper works on immigration and most especially he loved playing mahjong.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 9:30am–11:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy following at Church of the Good Shepherd at 12:00pm.
