Marites, age 57, went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2017 after a long battle with kidney disease (dialysis) over the last 10 years. On October 26, 1960, Marites was the first born child of Freddie and Remedios Acuna. Born in the Philippines, the family migrated to Contra Costa County where she became a long-time resident and graduated from Pittsburg High School. She was a member of CRM and I Found the Answer Ministries. She held various jobs over her lifetime which included working for Bank of America and AT&T, as well as working as a nursing assistant and finally as an insurance underwriter. She will be remembered for her charisma, boisterous laugh, love of socializing, passion for event planning, and deep appreciation of music, arts and culture. She had a generous spirit and big heart evidenced by her love for the Lord, family and friends, whom she often showered with tokens of affection.
Marites is survived by: her mother, Remedios Acuna; her 3 siblings and in-laws and her children; Melchor Ignacio Jr., Melissa Ignacio, Monique McDaniel (Zachary), Megan Ignacio and their beloved cats.
Viewing will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 3:30pm with a celebration of life service 4:30pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to I Found the Answer Ministries, P.O. Box #8026, Pittsburg, CA 94565
