Marlene passed away peacefully with her family and loved ones by her side in Antioch. Marlene was born in Pittsburg. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1977 and Heald Business College. She worked for the Contra Costa County Superior Court for over 34 years.
She enjoyed crafting, going to Reno, planning parties, baking, cooking, shopping and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Marlene is lovingly survived by her sisters Sylvia Rivera and Adele Miles (Franco), nieces Melanie Romero (Richard) and Heather Zaragoza (John). Her precious great nieces and nephews: Brittani, Brianna, Brielle and Brian Romero as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Rose Rivera.
Marlene sparkled and brightened the lives of those she came in contact with. She was a devoted sister, aunt, godmother and friend. She leaves behind wonderful memories full of love and kindness. Her beautiful smile and generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A chapel blessing and rosary will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
