Mary Enea passed away peacefully on Thursday at the age of 95. Mary was born and raised in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School. In 1936, she was dubbed "Queen Mary" after being crowned Pittsburg Columbus Day Queen. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Diablo Valley College and worked for over 20 years with the Pittsburg Unified School District as a teacher's aide.
She is survived by her five sons, John of Redwood City, Anthony of Brentwood, Richard of Crescent City, Mark of Arnold, and Gary of El Dorado Hills. She also has eight grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband John Enea and her sister Katherine. Mary's devotion to her family will be missed.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, September 17th, 5:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm. Chapel blessing Wednesday, September 18th, 11:00am both days at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
