Mary Angie Papetti passed away peacefully on January 13, 2017, in the home where she raised her children, and enjoyed the company of friends and family for over 70 years. Mary was born to Mary (Lazio) and Frank Lombardo on December 31, 1919. She was a devoted and loving sister to Vincent, Frank, Nora, and Tony Lombardo.
Mary was a member of Saint Peter Martyr Church. In 1938, Mary married the first love her life, Tony Darone (deceased). The couple raised two children, Vincent and Marylou Darone-both preceded their mother to heaven. In 1962, Mary married the second love of her life, Philip Papetti. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Paula Papetti (Traynor) as well as Phil's daughters, Patti Papetti (Victor) Galli and Carol Papetti DiMaggio.
Mary and Phil enjoyed spending time at the Elks Club, spending summers in Bellingham, Washington, cooking holiday meals together, and traveling with their daughters to Italy and Sicily. After Phil's passing in 1990, Mary spent time gardening, playing cards, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Mary is survived by her grandchildren Tony Darone, Michelle (Darone) Parks, Debra (Darone) Fromme, Robert Darone and Vincent Darone (deceased), Victor Galli, Alicen Galli , Sarah DiMaggio, Andrew DiMaggio, Chloe Traynor and Liam Traynor as well as four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan 19, 2017 at 6:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, Jan 20, 2017 at 10:30am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the East Bay.
