Melchor Canilao Ignacio Sr., 56, passed away on April 25, 2017 at Sutter Delta Medical Hospital. He was born in the Philippines and was the son of Julian Sr., and Magdalena Ignacio. At the age of 9, Melchor and his family moved to the United States. He went on to attend Pittsburg High School. Over the course of his life he was a man of many trades and finally retired as a proud employee of the Academy of Art Installation Team shortly before his death. He was a member of various unions which included the Carpenters Union.
Throughout his life, Melchor enjoyed spending time with his family, cars, playing sports, building and fixing things and working. He will be remembered for his great work ethic, jokes, his laugh, charismatic and kind heart and his love for his family, friends and all of those around him. He loved the Lord and was a long time born-again believer in Christ.
Melchor is survived by wife, Gina Ignacio and his children: Melchor Ignacio Jr., Melissa Ignacio, Monique McDaniel (Zachary), Megan Ignacio, Anthony Ignacio, Devin Moore. He is also survived by his beloved pets, his eleven siblings, in-laws, and many family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 4th at 3:00pm with a funeral service at 6:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Should friends or family members desire, flowers and donations are welcome. Contributions may be sent to the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel c/o The Ignacio Family.
