Michael Peter Coniglio, "Pete" to family and friends, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Nov 17, 2013. Pete was born in Isola Delle Femmine Sicily on Sept 9,1938. Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Madelyn Cataldo Coniglio of Pittsburg, 3 children Maria Cattolico (Loren), Joseph Coniglio (Robin), Anthony Coniglio (Christina). 3 grandchildren, Lauren (Tyler), Michael and Katie. Pete also leaves behind his brothers Filippo, Salvatore, Joseph, Neno and Nick and his sister Anna Curella. He so loved his family and his grandchildren were the light of his eyes.
Pete was a retiree of Dillingham construction where he worked for years as a carpenter assigned to Shell Oil in Martinez. He was a master craftsman and his work is a living legacy. Staircases, cabinets and fireplace mantles as well as many other fine pieces of furniture and trim work he happily produced. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Pete was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a passionate bocce ball player. He always had a smile on his face, a story to tell, and a song in his heart.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 3:00pm with a vigil 4:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Monday, November 25, 2013 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
