Obituary

Michael was born and raised in Antioch. He graduated from Antioch High School in 1971 and went on to attend college at the University of Las Vegas. Michael was a talented athlete and during his time at UNLV was offered a contract to play for the Philadelphia Phillies. His incredible years as a pitcher, both in high school and later in college, earned him a place in the Antioch Sports Legends Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2009. After college, Michael began a dedicated career at the Chevron Refinery in Richmond, Ca., as a longshoreman. Later in life, his hobbies included riding his motorcycle, cheering for the San Francisco Giants, reading, music, and raising Rottweiler's. A passionate animal lover and a proud, life long resident of Contra Costa County, Michael donated generously to many local animal and community charities.
Michael survived by his sisters, Mary Amador and Julie Dayton, his godchildren, Joseph Amador and Toni-girl Gearhart, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace "Red" and Malina "Millie" Lucido and his brother-in-law, Nick.
Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 11am at the Antioch Historical Society Museum. Graveside service Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11am at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
