Mike was born in Colgate, OK in 1922. He and his family moved to Pittsburg, Ca in the early 1930's. He met the love his life at Pittsburg High School; Marie Nuzzo and married her in 1945. Mike worked at Buchanan Department Store and later became a butcher. In 1954, he went to work for Contra Costa County as the inventory clerk in Martinez, for 30 years.
Mike was always passionate about cars and even had a few nice ones. He always looked for the best quality in everything. He was a very giving man and was always willing  to lend a helping hand to his family, friends and his community. Mike was a coach for the Pittsburg Swim Club, involved in the Pittsburg Bocce Federation for 30 years and volunteer for 17 years, at the Pittsburg Police Department.
Mike is survived by his son Rick Pareno, granddaughter Amy Pareno, grandson Bryan Pareno, and great granddaughter Milliana. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie and grandson Richard Pareno.
Mike was a good man who always had a funny joke to tell, happy memory to share, a love song to sing and a point of wisdom to offer. He will forever be loved and missed by many.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
